The demonstration to validate the AHEAD technologies was carried out on the Bundeswehr training ground in Nordheim am Main. The extensive site is not only densely overgrown, uneven and extremely impassable, but also includes a lake with access to the Main river. This provided the project team with a very challenging and therefore perfectly suited environment to test the telerobotic remote control of their amphibious vehicle.
