But this will soon change, as Europe is working hard to build on its past achievements in spaceflight. European space companies – particularly start-ups – are aiming to shape the future of spaceflight with a range of launchers that combine three aspects: safety, independence and competitiveness. Leading decision-makers from space agencies, the space industry and space research discussed current progress and future plans at the 11th Industrial Days at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) in Lampoldshausen on 23 and 24 April 2024.
