TanDEM-X DEM Change Map of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field in Chile. The red glacier tongues clearly show the global trend of melting. One exception is the Brüggen Glacier at the centre left, whose ice mass is increasing due to local phenomena. The changes in height can be used to infer melting and growth rates.
