Highly automated driving at the touch of a button
The driver determines the degree of automation at the touch of a button. Accidents on the road are often the result of mistakes made by inattentive, overloaded or tired drivers. Minimising the number of such accidents was the task of the EU project HAVEit (Highly Automated Vehicles for Intelligent Transport), which involved transport researchers from the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
