Hadley Rille on the Moon
A difficult landing site directly next to Hadley Rille – a former lava channel up to 400 metres deep in places (bottom right in the image) – was selected for Apollo 15. Together with Hadley Rille, the front of the Montes Apenninus was another of the astronauts’ destinations. They investigated the area near the crater shown at the bottom left of the image.
