Sampling on asteroid Ryugu
During the course of its close-up exploration of asteroid Ryugu between June 2018 and November 2019, the Hayabusa2 spacecraft touched down on the asteroid's surface twice, on 22 February and 11 July 2019, picking up a total of just over five grams of material with a sampling tube that reached Earth in 2020 (artist's impression).
