8885 turbines are in operation worldwide, and 852 are under construction – the majority of them in China (as of mid-2021). In addition to China, the European Union and the United Kingdom, South Korea (right) and Vietnam (bottom right), for example, operate several offshore wind farms. The USA has seven plants along its east coast.
