Board Projects and Quantum Computing Initiative
The Board Projects and DLR Quantum Computing Initiative department has been established as an agile unit for DLR-wide projects of maximum importance, selected directly by the Executive Board. Their importance is a function of the involvement of multiple DLR institutes in the projects or a high level of complexity in their execution. The department also manages work processes that involve the Executive Board and runs the current overarching project on quantum computing.
The DLR Quantum Computing Initiative addresses the entire development spectrum, from hardware, software and applications to manufacturing technology and supply chains. The initiative is also designed to expand the development of quantum computing technology expertise within and outside DLR within a knowledge transfer framework. This will be achieved in part through the establishment of the innovation centres for quantum computing technology being set up in Hamburg and Ulm, which will support the development of a competitive quantum computing environment in Germany.
