Anke Pagels-Kerp was appointed Divisional Board Member for Space in October 2021. She is responsible for the research and development programme of DLR's 22 space research institutes.
From 2016 to 2021, she led the 'Space Exploration' department at the German Space Agency at DLR. In this position, she was responsible for the Agency's research programme and space programme missions in the areas of Solar System research, astronomy and astrophysics. Previously, she worked as a scientist in the Satellite Communications department and was the project manager responsible for the German contribution to the European Data Relay Satellite System (EDRS). Pagels-Kerp has been a member of the German Space Agency at DLR since 2009.
