Directions ZLP Stade
The research facility in Stade was founded in 2009 as one of the two sites of the Centre for Lightweight Production Technology (ZLP) and has been an independent site of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) since 2011. The research in Stade rounds off the portfolio of the existing process chain for the development and production of components made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastics (CFRP) at DLR. The centre's work focuses on production technology on an industrial scale.
How to find us
Research at the Centre for Lightweight Production Technology (ZLP) in Stade covers the fields of energy and transport in addition to aviation. Around 40 employees from the Institute for Lightweight Systems Design work here on the production of large components made of CFRP on an industrial scale. In addition to the aviation and automotive industries, manufacturers of rotor blades for wind turbines also benefit from this.
Together with the ZLP in Augsburg, it is positioned along the entire process chain for fibre composite components. With unique large-scale facilities, the ZLP develops strategies to produce large CFRP components cost-effectively and in high quality. All process steps are analysed, integrated and mapped with the corresponding technical infrastructure on an industrial scale. This infrastructure is also available to customers in order to develop and validate production processes together with the DLR in a demand-orientated and flexible manner.
DLR's Stade site is located in the Ottenbeck district. It can be reached as follows
By train and bus
