„Best Paper Award“ for the Data4Human project at the IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference

The joint publication of EOC scientists on "User-driven flood response & monitoring information - Key findings of the Data4Human project" was awarded the Best Paper Award (Honorable Mention) at the IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference in San Jose, USA. The paper, which deals with the rapid provision of flood and damage products in the event of a crisis, presented results of the joint work of the project Data4Human ("Demand Driven Data Services for Humanitarian Aid").

Data4Human is a project within the framework of DLR's "Humanitarian Technologies" initiative, in which new technologies are being developed to support humanitarian aid worldwide. Information from satellite data and from the internet is precisely and timely analyzed so that the humanitarian aid personnel can quickly get an overview of the situation in the event of a crisis. The results of the research work were also presented on-site to an interdisciplinary audience of experts in the field of humanitarian technologies.

The results of the project were also presented in the podcast "CorrelTalk - The Data4Good Podcast".
The podcast is available on all popular podcast platforms (e.g. CorrelTalk - Der Data4Good Podcast)
