Another ZKI-DE-user training at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin
The Federal Office for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) and the Center of Satellite based Crisis Information (ZKI) at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) organized together for the third time a user-training on the ZKI-DE Remote Sensing Service for Federal Authorities in Berlin at the 4. and 5. June 2019.
Since 2013, the ZKI-DE Service has enabled Federal Authorities to acquire and analyze current and past remote sensing data at short notice, from which ZKI-specific and user-defined information can be generated. The current framework agreement (2017-2020) between the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) and DLR provides, among other things, training users in the application of remote sensing technology and informing them about technological innovations.
Within the two-day training, the users got an overview about the work at ZKI and the ZKI-DE-Service as well as the product offers of the BKG. Another topic was the various fields of application which was demonstrated through many examples. Also the technical frame conditions of remote sensing and the contractual conditions with the BMI where explained. Furthermore there were different practical exercises and discussions about future applications in subgroups. Together with a casual evening program it was possible to offer a diversified and interesting event for the users.
