With the implemented VPH process, industrial wing and flap concepts can be efficiently and effectively designed through pre-simulations of production and testing. Possible complications and disadvantages in later development stages can be anticipated early on during the design phase and avoided by adjusting the flap design accordingly.
The simulation-based test procedures are also intended to replace part of the physical testing. As a result, fewer tests would be necessary on complex test rigs in the future. This would lead to significant time and cost savings for testing and certification. Furthermore, it is possible with the digital "end-to-end" process to significantly shorten the overall development time for innovative aircraft components.
