The DLR Bremen site

The Bremen site supports the innovative strength of the region. The first DLR institute at the site was founded in 2007. Since then, DLR has been continuously expanding its research topics in Bremen and has also been represented by the Virtual Product House in the ECOMAT innovation centre since 2019.

The scientific activities are integrated into the entire DLR network as well as into national and international research partnerships. Thanks to its location in the Technology Park in the north and its site in Bremen Airport City in the south, DLR works in close co-operation with science and industry. DLR's research infrastructure is also available for use by project partners to support the scientific and technical transfer of expertise. DLR's technology marketing promotes close networking with partners from industry and industry associations in order to jointly create new products and future-proof jobs.

At the DLR_School_Lab in Bremen, children and young people have the opportunity to actively discover the fascinating world of research and technology. Pupils can carry out their own experiments here, which have concrete links to current projects in aviation, space travel, transport and energy. DLR supervises Bachelor's and Master's theses and also qualifies scientists through doctoral programmes. At the Bremen site, DLR offers places for vocational training as an electronics technician for devices and systems.
