Patrick Jochem honoured as "Scientist of the Month" by Helmholtz Energy
- Dr Patrick Jochem, Head of the Energy Systems Analysis Department at the Institute of Networked Energy Systems, was named "Scientist of the Month April" by Helmholtz Energy.
- The column regularly presents the people behind the research at Helmholtz Energy.
- In the interview, Jochem emphasises, among other things, the need to make scientific results more visible to the public.
- Focus: Energy, system analysis, awards
Dr Patrick Jochem is the first researcher from the Institute of Networked Energy Systems to be awarded the title “Scientist of the Month April” by Helmholtz Energy. In an interview, the head of the Energy System Analysis department provides insights into his work, for example on future electricity market design or modelling the resource requirements for the transformation of the European energy system. He talks about the need to make scientific results more visible to the public, explains what drives him and predicts the importance that interdisciplinary systems research will have in the future. You can find the interview here at Helmholtz Energy.
In the "Scientist of the Month" section, researchers are regularly profiled in order to present not only the results, but also the people themselves who are behind the research at Helmholtz Energy.
About Helmholtz Energy
Helmholtz Energy creates the scientific conditions for a climate-neutral energy supply that is economically and socially sustainable through research from the basics to application. Helmholtz Energy involves the Forschungszentrum Jülich, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the Helmholtz Centre Dresden-Rosendorf, the Helmholtz Centre Berlin and the DLR. The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) is also scientifically associated.
