Patrick Jochem, Head of the Energy System Analysis Department at the Institute of Networked Energy Systems, has been appointed adjunct professor by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). He has been teaching renewable energies, energy-efficient energy systems and electromobility at the Faculty of Economics at KIT since March 2024.
Prof Dr Jochem has been associated with KIT as a private lecturer since 2016. This was preceded by his habilitation at the Institute of Industrial Management and Industrial Production (IIP) under Prof Dr Wolf Fichtner on the topic of "Electric Mobility and Energy Systems" at KIT.
Jochem's appointment as "apl. Prof." is based on his many years of service in research and teaching at DLR and KIT. "I am very pleased about the appointment and the recognition that comes with it. I hope that this will enable us to further improve the possible synergies within the Helmholtz Association between the two institutions in order to jointly tackle and solve major challenges in energy system analysis. Participation in the training of students in Karlsruhe is also a matter close to my heart," says Jochem, who will remain at DLR as Head of Energy Systems Analysis at the Stuttgart site regardless of the appointment.
