The DLR Dresden is located in the south of Dresden in the immediate vicinity of the Dresden main train station („Hauptbahnhof“). It can be reached as follows:
Train and bus
On arrival at the main station Dresden there are several possibilities. The tram and bus lines run every 10 minutes.
Main exit towards St. Petersburg street:
By tram line 3 (direction Plauen) from „Hauptbahnhof“ to „Nürnberger Platz“. From there (walk from „Münchener Straße“ to „Nürnberger Straße”) continue with the bus line 61 (direction Löbtau) to the stop "Zwickauer Straße". The journey time from Dresden main station is about 10 to 15 minutes. From „Zwickauer Straße“ take the stairs down and turn left, after about 200 meters you will reach the DLR on the left side.
Exit towards „Wiener Platz / Prager Straße“:
Take tram line 7 (direction Pennrich) from „Hauptbahnhof“ to „Budapester Straße“. From there, take the ascending staircase and, on the opposite side of the street, take bus line 62 (direction Löbtau-Süd) to the stop „Agentur für Arbeit“. The journey takes about 6 minutes. Continue in the direction of travel of the bus and after about 100 meters turn right into „Hahnebergstraße“ until reaching a T-junction (about 200 m). There, bear left, the DLR is then in front of you. The walk from the bus stop to the institute is about 4 minutes.

Taxi
At Dresden main station you will find a taxi stand at the main exit “St. Petersburger Straße“ and at the exit „Bayrische Straße“. Please indicate the location address of the driver as the destination – „Zwickauer Straße 46“. The telephone number of the Dresden taxi call is +49 351 211 211. The fare should be around 7 to 10 euros when the traffic is flowing. (1.5 miles)
Automobile
Coming from Chemnitz (A4) or Berlin (A13/A4), please follow the signs to Prague (A17) and take the exit „Dresden Südvorstadt", keep left and follow the signs to „Dresden Zentrum" - B170. After approx. 3 km use one of the two left lanes to turn left onto Nürnberger Straße - B 173 - and follow the signs for Meißen/Freiberg. After 2 km, turn right onto Budapester Straße. After approx. 100 m turn left onto Hahnebergstraße and follow it for approx. 200 m until you reach Zwickauer Straße 46 (next T-junction).
Plane
On arrival at Dresden Airport there are two options. Either take a taxi from there (travel time about 20 to 30 minutes). Please give the driver the destination „Zwickauer Straße 46“, or take the S-Bahn S-2 direction „Pirna Bahnhof“ from the train station "Dresden Flughafen“ in the basement of the airport to „Dresden Hauptbahnhof". The journey time is 21 minutes. From the main station please use the description for "train and bus“, „taxi“, or „on foot“.
On foot
To get to the DLR location on foot from the main station, please leave the main station at the exit „Bayrische Straße“ to the right and follow the „Bayrische Straße” until the end. Then turn left into “Hohe Straße” and take the second street „Schweizer Straße” - to the right. Follow this street until „Budapester Straße“ (4-lane main street) and cross it. Follow the „Budapester Straße“ to the left for about 350 m to the „Hahnebergstraße“, where you turn right. After approx. 200 m you will reach a T-junction „Zwickauer Straße“, where the DLR is located half left in front of you. The walk takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
