The Institute of Software Technology sees software as a catalyst for research and innovation. The Institute provides most of its software solutions as open source software.

CosmoScout VR

CosmoScout VR is an open-source simulation of our solar system developed at the Institute of Software Technology. It is primarily aimed at the interactive visualisation of huge remote sensing products in conjunction with large, temporally and spatially high-resolution simulation data.

TiGL – parametric aircraft geometry modeller

TiGL is a library for generating 3D geometries from parametrized CPACS/XML data sets. Using the CPACS file format and TiGL, you can model a wide range of aircraft, spacecraft and rotorcraft.

t8code - the open-source library for extremely efficient simulations with adaptive grids

t8code is a software library for efficient management of dynamic adaptive grids and data on them. Any simulation software that uses grids can benefit from t8code as a plugin, because it supports and enhances various simulation applications. t8code is very general-purpose because it supports just about any grid needed by numerical simulation software.

Remote Component Environment (RCE)

RCE is a distributed, workflow-driven integration environment. We made RCE especially for engineers and scientists to design, analyze, and optimize complex systems (e.g., aircrafts, ships, or satellites) by using and integrating their own design and analysis tools.

Virtual Satellite

Virtual Satellite is a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approach to space systems development, from early concurrent engineering (CE) to model-driven code generation for flight software.
