MeToDiO

The MeToDiO project is concerned with methods and tools for the digital organization of the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

Modern methods of data and systems science as well as artificial intelligence open up new opportunities for tasks and processes in corporate development and strategic management. These methods play a leading role in the digital transformation of these areas.

Example of a knowledge graph
A knowledge graph of projects linked with appropriate terms from a taxonomy and the corresponding DLR departments.

The MeToDiO project is concerned with methods and tools for the digital organization of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The existing information needs at DLR constitute the starting point for research in AI-driven methods, in particular text and graph mining. The development of this area serves many use cases: from the early detection of important trends, to the information basis for decision-makers on possible future developments with the inclusion of expert knowledge, as well as semantic searches in interlinked data sets.

As a result, prototypes for practical applications will be created which allow interested organizational units of DLR to manage expert knowledge, evaluate large document collections, and analyze trends. In addition, employees will be able to carry out thematically oriented searches in networked DLR knowledge bases and run through organizational development scenarios.

The project is geared towards close cooperation with the involved organizational units, and thus, provides a continuous exchange for the purpose of identifying requirements, testing and demand-oriented improvement.
