JANUS is the camera system on ESA's JUICE mission to Jupiter. From 2031 to 2035, it will photograph the surfaces of Ganymede, Callisto and Europa in high resolution, providing the basis for mapping these icy moons. JANUS was developed in Italy, Germany, Spain and the UK, with parts of its hardware manufactured at the DLR Institute of Planetary Research, which also plays a leading role in the scientific operation of the camera.
