The Optical Ground Station Oberpfaffenhofen (OGS-OP) was developed to obtain scientific measurement data in a wide variety of scenarios for free-space optical communications. It is a versatile instrument for optical data transmission and conducting measurements of the atmospheric optical transmission channel.
