Two large comet reservoirs in the Solar System
There are two large comet reservoirs in the Solar System. One is the hose-shaped ring situated beyond the orbits of Uranus and Neptune. Named after its discoverers Kuiper and Edgeworth, it spans a distance of up to 50 times the distance between Earth and the Sun. The other is the hypothetical, spheroid Oort Cloud that, according to current knowledge, encloses the Solar System and stretches almost to the next star.
