Veteran of space robotics – ROKVISS
The Flight Model of the ROKVISS robot has been used on the outside of the International Space Station (ISS) for five years. The Qualification Model at DLR Oberpfaffenhofen will now be operated from the ISS using the Kontur-2 joystick. The DLR Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics developed the joystick and the appropriate software. The astronauts on board the ISS will receive force feedback via the joystick.
