Vibroacoustics
In the research topic of Vibroacoustics we deal with the experimental and numerical analysis and control of structure-borne sound. This includes the study of both the generation and propagation of sound in lightweight structures, as well as methods for its reduction. A wide range of measurement, analysis, and simulation techniques are employed for this purpose.
The most important topics:
- Test procedures and model validation for the medium frequency range
- Modeling and analysis of energy transport in lightweight structures through structure-borne noise and vibrations
- Design of passive damping measures based on viscoelastic materials
- Automated, spatially high-resolution vibration and sound measurement technology
