Application of quantum simulations in hydrogen research

AQUAS

On the lookout for more efficient and sustainable materials to transition to hydrogen-based energy, more accurate quantum simulations are needed. The objective of AQUAS’ project is to validate and implement innovative software using hybrid algorithms that intertwine classical and quantum computers. Quantum Machine Learning will complete this project.

AQUAS is a consortium formed by HQS Quantum Simulations GmbH (consortial leader), German Aerospace Center (Institute of Engineering Themodynamics, and Institute for Software Technology), Ulm University (Institute of Theoretical Chemistry), and Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA). The project is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The task of DLR Ulm is the development and test of quantum algorithms to tackle electrochemical surface science.
