DLR research helicopter BO 105 (D-HDDP) in the air for the KoBoL project

From 18-22 November 2024 the KOBOL (Coordinated Autonomous Ground-to-Air Systems) project is taking place at the private landing area in Edemissen (Peine district) with the research helicopter BO105 (D-HDDP). The BO 105 has an integrated communications module that will be tested in flight in collaboration with the DLR Institutes of Transportation Research and Flight Guidance to see whether real-time ground information is sufficient to select a landing site quickly and safely.

The primary goal of the coordinated project of the key topics of aviation, space and transportation is to provide information on the ground scenario in real time to the rescue helicopters in order to improve landing conditions and options.
