Location & getting there

By car

Coming from the North or South: From the A9 (Berlin-Munich) change at the Hermsdorfer Kreuz to the A4 in the direction of Erfurt and Frankfurt/Main. Take the Jena-Göschwitz exit. Drive into town on the B88. Turn left towards Winzerla, along Kahlaische Straße. Turn right into An der Brauerei Straße, follow  Felsenkeller Straße uphill, turn left at Mälzerstraße and drive through to the institute.

Coming from East or West: From the A4 (Frankfurt/Main/Dresden) take the Jena-Göschwitz exit. Follow the B88 into town and turn left towards Winzerla, along Kahlaische Straße. Turn right into An der Brauerei Straße, follow  Felsenkeller Straße uphill, turn left at Mälzerstraße and drive through to the institute.

Parking

Short-term parking is possible directly in front of the building.

By train and bus

From Jena-Paradies – from there 7 min walk in direction South on Kahlaische Straße. Turn right onto An der Brauerei Straße and continue uphill onto Felsenkellerstraße. Turn left at Mälzerstraße and continue to the institute.

From Jena-Westbahnhof – walk east on Westbahnhofstraße towards Hohe Straße. Turn right onto Rathenaustraße and right again onto Felsenkellerstraße. Turn left at Mälzerstraße and continue to the institute.

By plane

Arrival at Berlin airport: by train to Jena-Paradies (travel time approx. 2.5 hours). Continue as described above.

Arrival at Halle/Leipzig airport: take the shuttle bus to Leipzig Main Station, then continue to Jena-Paraies and continue as described above. The Intercity to Jena takes about 1 hour.

Arrival at Munich airport: by train to Jena-Paradies (travel time approx. 4 hours). Continue as described above.
