The Planetary Image Library (formerly Regional Planetary Image Facility (RPIF)) is a library for planetary image data and is based on an agreement between NASA and DLR. It collects images produced for the media and the public, mission documentation, books on planetary research, magazines and maps from American and European space missions on the bodies in our solar system (with the exception of Earth) and on extrasolar planets, as well as data from selected space telescopes. The collection, which is constantly being expanded, now comprises several hundred thousand images, including around 6,500 slides and over 30,000 digital images. These are offered for general use.
