Meeting of the project group Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility
DLR presents pioneering platform for mobility and logistics
At the end of October, the partner projects of the Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility initiative, funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), gathered at the DLR site in Cologne. Innovative solutions for the mobility and logistics of tomorrow were presented, with a particular focus on the development of the Base-X digital platform. This platform aims to securely and efficiently link previously isolated data sources in order to enable broad applicability and new business models.
Base-X as the key to the mobility turnaround
The innovative Base-X platform is part of a forward-looking ecosystem and is intended to provide a secure, scalable and interoperable infrastructure that could set standards worldwide. A central concern of the projects was the question of how data from different sources can be made secure and usable while maintaining data sovereignty. Base-X provides an answer to this challenge with its open, trustworthy architecture. Base-X is already being used as the basis for pilot projects in cities such as Hamburg, Wolfsburg and Daegu (South Korea). The international co-operation underlines the global potential of the platform and shows that it can serve as a model for future mobility solutions.
Future perspectives and European networking
The aim of the Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility project family is to create sustainable and safe mobility solutions by increasingly networking European partners. Based on the project results to date, the DLR Institute of AI Safety and Security is working on further developing Base-X to make mobility systems safer and more data-driven. This could be the basis for mobility ‘Made in Germany’ with international influence.
