Space Symposium 2023

The 38th Space Symposium took place from 17.04. – 20-04 the in Colorado Springs. The Space Symposium is attended by government, industry, research and investment from all over the world and, as one of the largest conferences worldwide, brings together members of the global space society. At this year's symposium with more than 10,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors from over 40 different countries, the Institute of Technical Physics was represented with the miniSLR.

The miniSLR is a compact and portable ground station for satellite laser ranging. By attaching passive retroreflectors to satellites, their trajectory can be determined, identified and differentiated with millimeter precision with the miniSLR. This technology can make an important contribution to the sustainable use of low Earth orbits (LEO), in which there is an increasing satellite density.
