Innovative Spacecraft

If a spacecraft is broken down into its main components, it can be broken down into several electronic components - known as avionics in aerospace - algorithms for control, data processing and monitoring, specific structures and mechanisms, and units for power generation and distribution.

Research and development work on these components is pooled in the institute's "Innovative Spacecraft Cluster", so that the focus is not only on innovative ideas within the individual areas of work, but also on their synergetic interaction.

As these synergies can only be uncovered by integrating all these innovative technologies into joint flight missions, in-orbit verification (IOV)/IOD is absolutely essential here.
