Within the TIMELINE project a almost 40-year-long homogenized time series of NOAA and METOP AVHRR data over Europe and North Africa is generated using the historical data archive of DLR-DFD. The time series will be provided to the public using a free and open data policy. A wide range of traditional and innovative remote sensing products covering different processing levels will be available. The long time series of almost 40 years of daily acquisitions and the implementation of sound operational algorithms and state of the art validation techniques ensure a unique product set that conforms to requirements that rise directly from the scientific community.
