Base-X at the IAA Transportation
At the international trade fair for logistics, commercial vehicles and the transport sector, the Institute for AI Safety will be presenting insights into the functional safety of autonomous vehicles and Base-X, the joint result of the Gaia-X 4 Future Mobility project family, which is coordinated by the institute. In the context of the European Gaia-X initiative, GX4FM provides scientific foundations as well as numerous practical applications.
Based on Base-X, an implementation alliance has been formed to drive forward on-demand mobility, with rural areas in particular set to benefit. In addition, there are already collaborations with the cities of Hamburg and Daegu in South Korea, which are using Base-X to improve the customer experience in intermodal transport, for example, or to make better use of the limited space in city centres through innovative stop management. At the trade fair, we were able to establish exciting new contacts with interested parties from various industries - because Base-X is more than just transport and logistics, the system contributes to a high-performance, secure and trustworthy data infrastructure across all industries.
Base-X is an advanced decentralised data integration system that seamlessly connects existing data and service infrastructures with other open data ecosystems. This significantly facilitates the efficient exchange and sharing of data and reduces dependence on large private cloud providers. Instead, all users can offer and use data and services in a self-determined, transparent, secure and cross-border manner. Base-X thus not only supports the industry in developing interoperable and scalable solutions, but also strengthens the autonomy of citizens. By networking across national borders, Base-X promotes innovation internationally. Base-X represents a decisive step towards a sovereign digital future.
