About Philip Kausche
Philip Kausche studied aerospace engineering at the TU Berlin. His general interest in technology and aerospace topics was awakened in his early childhood at the glider airfield.
After completing his studies in 2008, he began his professional career as a research assistant in the Engine Acoustics department of the DLR Institute of Propulsion Technology. During this time, he researched new active and passive noise reduction measures for civil aircraft engines. After completing his doctorate, he moved within DLR from Berlin-Charlottenburg to Bonn-Oberkassel in 2015 to the Space Launch Systems department. Since then, he has been project manager for the utilisation phase programme of the European heavy-lift launcher Ariane 5.
He is a passionate everyday and all-weather cyclist and in his spare time can often be found running after a flying plastic disc in the Rhine floodplains.
