Video: Transport of the high-tech rotor blades for the DLR Research Park Wind Energy Krummendeich
With the WiValdi wind energy research park, DLR is setting up a facility in Krummendeich in Lower Saxony that is unique in this form. It makes it possible to research the technological aspects of wind power as one of the pillars of tomorrow's energy system on a real scale - together with players from the Wind Energy Research Network. The two wind turbines at the research park have special rotor blades for this purpose: they were already equipped with around 1,500 sensors during production at the industrial company Enercon. The scientists want to use them to investigate how wind turbines can be designed and operated more quietly, more durably and more efficiently. WiValdi will go into operation in summer 2023 and is expected to run for about 20 years. The first three high-tech rotor blades already set off from Bremen to Krummendeich at the end of March.
