  • CV in tabular format
  • references
  • detailed transcript of grades, if applicable
  • letters of recommendation, if applicable

Occasionally, some institutes and facilities also allow applications by post. In this case, please send an envelope with all your application documents to the HR department concerned. You can find their address by clicking on the ‘Apply by post’ button in the job advertisement.

How to apply online

  • Start by clicking on the ‘Apply online now’ link, which you will find in every job advertisement. This provides you with all the information you need, including the job code.
  • Enter your title, first name and last name and your email address. Please enter your email address twice to ensure you receive confirmation of your application and any further communication from us.
  • If you have a severe disability or protected status, please also upload the relevant documentation.
  • Now upload your cover letter, CV and certificates in the fields provided. Each document must be a PDF file no larger than 5 MB. You can upload any additional documents in an extra box.
  • You will then be invited to answer two questions about our recruitment process; this feedback is voluntary and anonymous and will help us continue to improve our work.
  • After answering a short security question and giving your consent to data collection, processing and storage, you're done!
  • Click on ‘Submit application’ to send your application to the relevant HR department at DLR. You’ll get an immediate notification to confirm that your application has been sent successfully.
  • Shortly afterwards, you’ll be issued with an automatic confirmation of receipt to assure you that your application has reached our applicant management system and is safely in the hands of our HR department.

Fingers crossed we’re a good match!

What happens next?

Our HR team needs time to review all applications carefully and comply with the requirements of the Wage Agreement for Public Service (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst, TVöD), so it may take several weeks before you hear back from us. Please refrain from inquiring about the status of your application. We will get back to you as soon as a decision has been made.

If we think we could be a good match, we’ll send you an invitation so that we can get to know each other a little better. Ideally, this will be a face-to-face meeting but it could also take place digitally or by phone, depending on the circumstances. The format and focus of the interview may vary depending on the institute and facility.

If everything works out, there’s nothing left to do but celebrate and get ready for you to join us!
