Synthetic aperture radar tomography is a remote sensing technique that allows one to retrieve the vertical distribution of scatterers. We are seeking a person to develop research aimed at tomographic imaging in the presence of temporal decorrelation. The main objective will be to characterize the three-dimensional backscatter distribution of forested areas while accounting for variations undergone by the scatterers during the multi-baseline acquisition. The candidate will work on data collected by the institute's airborne SAR sensors as well as on spaceborne SAR data like Tandem-X.
The candidate will be encouraged to present her/his work at conferences and to enrol on DLR's graduate program.
