CITE – Center for Crash and Impact Test

Das Testzentrum CITE zielt darauf ab, das Verhalten von Kleinflugzeugen, Hubschraubern, Air-Taxis und anderen großen Luftfahrtkomponenten im Vollmaßstab unter Crash- oder Hochgeschwindigkeitsimpact zu prüfen.

MFFD – Multifunctional Fuselage Demonstrator

Das DLR Institut für Bauweisen- und Strukturtechnologie in Augsburg hat die Herstellung einer maßstabsgetreuen Rumpfhalbschale für den Clean Sky 2 "Multifunctional Fuselage Demonstrator" (MFFD) abgeschlossen. Gemeinsam mit den Partnern Airbus, Premium AEROTEC und Aernnova hat das DLR die Oberschale für den acht Meter langen MFFD Demonstrator im Juli 2023 ausgeliefert.

CALLISTO

CALLISTO is a joint project between CNES, DLR and JAXA with the aim of developing a reusable demonstrator for a vertical take-off and vertical landing (VTVL) rocket stage. The introduction of reusability for launcher systems could make it possible to reduce launch costs and enhance the versatility of the launcher system.

TeTeAnt-H2

Hydrogen as a primary energy carrier represents an important step on the way to CO2-free aviation. As a useful intermediate step, bivalent combustion systems (hydrogen and Sustainable Aviation Fuels, SAF) should drive the development of H2-capable engines and the spread of the necessary hydrogen infrastructure.

ADAPT

The assessment and digitalization of forthcoming propulsion technologies (ADAPT) project aims to evaluate future propulsion technologies. The focus is on hydrogen combustion in particular. For this purpose, propulsion concepts for regional, short-haul and long-haul routes will be predesigned and evaluated in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary process.

NEUTRON

The research project NEUTRON is investigating technologies, designs and materials that will enable the future use of hybrid-electric propulsion systems in helicopters. These efforts are made with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions.

3DCeraTurb

How can we make todays advanced aircraft engines even more efficient and environmentally friendly? How can we achieve higher combustion temperatures and corrosion resistance and at the same time reduce the engine weight?

TeamBots

In aviation industry even nowadays a lot of processes dealing with the placing of large carbon fiber matrices are done by manual work. The use of robots paves the path for advances both in efficiency and in precision of those processes.
